O'Shea 'Ice Cube' Jackson, is one of the pioneers in gangsta rap, and after beginning his music career with rap group N.W.A (Niggaz With Attitude), he went solo in music which increased his popularity.

Ice Cube's first movie was "Boyz in da Hood" a runaway success directed by then upcoming director John Singleton, who also collaborated with Cube in 1995's Higher Learning. Ice Cube's many popular movies include Friday, Next Friday, Friday After Next, Barbershop, Barbershop 2, Are We There Yet?, Ghosts of Mars, Three Kings, and the action smash XXX2 The Next Level/State of Union, and the smash horror thriller Anaconda.

Ice Cube is also the founder of production company, Cube Vision, and has also produced and directed projects. Cube has also been nominated for awards in the past, and has won only two currently: Favourite Action Team - Blockbuster Entertainment Award "Three Kings" and the Mecca Movie Award for Acting in 2002.
