So, corny and awful acting. I found it funny at times but it could have been more serious. A Wayans brother? Come on, we can do better than that!!

Idiotic action thriller pits an elite counter-terrorist team code-named G.I. Joe against the evil forces of the organization known as Cobra. This noisy special effects extravaganza bears little resemblance to the Hasbro toy of the 60s and is based rather on the Marvel comic book...( read more)

Saw this jumbalaya soup on a plane ride back home from LAX.
Welppppp, let's see here. Channing Tatum is a fucking horrible actor. Kinda knew that already, this completely confirms it.
Marlon Wayans in an action movie that doesn't feature David Allen Grier...what?
Also, the s...( read more) -

Not horrifying, not really good either. Makes some strange narrative choices concerning the audience they're aiming for.
But instead of discussing any of that, I'll just say that Snake Eyes shouldn't have lips. They were distracting in every scene they were in. -

Sure it's dumb, but it knows it. Unlike certain other movies based off of 80s toys this flick doesn't take itself seriously and is far more fun to watch as a result.

I did not have high hopes at all for this movie, and still I was thoroughly disappointed. I hold a special place in my heart for the 80s toys/comics/cartoons and rather than point out the numerous issues I have with this film, let's just say there is very little that is taken fro...( read more)

Basically Team America: World Police played straight and minus the political edge. full review
I could load you up with more plot details, but this mercilessly incoherent, galactically stupid movie left me too numb to type. full review
G.I. Joe is a loud but proficient slab of explode-o-rama summer blockbuster nonsense, perfectly entertaining if you like that sort of thing, extremely skippable if you don't. full review
It is sure to be enjoyed by those whose movie appreciation is defined by the ability to discern that moving pictures and sound are being employed to depict violence. full review
Formerly a real American hero, G.I. Joe is no longer a hero (it's a team) or American (it's a multinational unit of military superstars, though the way they do business you'd rather have the Croatian ... full review
There is an inertia born of ceaseless, stupefying animation. full review

August 15, 2009So over the top bad that this was actually enjoyable fun to watch.
If you go in to just enjoy the ride and remember this ISN'T based in reality then you'll be fine.
I think too many people pick this movie apart and forget what playing GI Joes was when you were a kid which was to use your imagination, your Joes could jump from the floor to the couch and there was nothing they couldn't do and in alot of ways that's what this movie is. -

August 9, 2009Why can't they just leave things alone. Everything isn't meant to be remade, revamped and brought to a movie theater.
