To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world reminiscent of a cheerfully innocent 1950s America, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders...like Chuck! With the help of his robot companion "Rover" and his new friend Lem, Chuck must navigate his way through the dazzling, but bewildering, landscape of Planet 51 in order to escape becoming a permanent part of the Planet 51 Alien Invaders Space Museum.

This is a great animated flick, really enjoyed it, nothing special plot wise and nothing special in the film really but its just a nice fun colourful film with agreeable characters and very nice cgi effects. Its a kiddie film, adults will enjoy but this isn't a Toy Story, its not...( read more) that kind of humour and not as clever but there are nice touches like the little 'Alien' pet with acid pee and cute retractable sucker jaw.

To be honest this film just needed alittle more original imagination with certain aspects, it could have been really really good but it lacks a final punch of quality (the main character is too much of a Buzz Lightyear rip)
Its still good fun though and well worth the ticket.

I told my daughter we could see a movie, and other than A Christmas Carol (which I will NOT see), this was it for options. But it's voiced by Dwayne Johnson, Justin Long, Gary Oldman, and John Cleese, and the concept was amusing, so there was hope.

It is what it is. Groundbr...( read more)eaking and original? No. But as animated films go this year, surprisingly it's leading the (admittedly weak) pack. It's better than Ice Age, Cloudy/Meatballs, Monsters vs Aliens, and yes, storywise it's far more interesting than Up. Wow, that IS a weak year for animated films. Let's hope Princess & the Frog brings the goods.

Oh my. I am shocked at how boring this was! Storyline was basic and there were no cute charachters at all. Not one. I have forgotten what happened in the movie already. Also it's hard to not see an animated movie in 3D now so when one like this comes out that's not in 3D it j...( read more)ust doesnt look as good. Storyline was the biggest downfall though. Only the "Alien" Dog was funny and at all interesting. Very disappointing.

Fim.

Its an entertaining enough film. Can't expect much from an animated film, admittingly not the best i've seen this year but its amusing with a good bunch of actors!

I really liked this movie and i was pleasently shocked by the great names in this movie!
its funny and entertaining and is good as a childrens animated movie that is good for what it is, a chillds movie but it has some really adult jokes that are funny but children wouldnt under...( read more)stand them!

The movie as a whole isn't exactly ground-breaking, and some of the humor tanks. But it has enough action, laughs and candy-hued visuals to satisfy the target audience without plunging grown-ups into ... full review

After Thanksgiving day went by there wasn't much to do, so my boyfriend and I headed to the movies, we decided to watch "Planet 51", so we bought tickets... so the movie started and I started asking myself when is the astronaut going to appear? It was about 20 mins into the movie when finally the astronaut appeared when I look to my side my boyfriend is half asleep (He NEVER falls asleep in the movie theater)... we decided to leave the theater... So I suggest people shouldn't spend money on this movie... maybe wait for the DVD if you want to watch. lol
