i really want to see the movie.. the trailer i great!!!
Kudos to Jonze for attempting to adapt such a story, and in many ways he achieves it well, if not perfectly. Its definatly worth seeing even for the curiousity factor, and being the most unique cinema experience in a long time, its certainly not one you're likely to forgot easily...( read more)
I attended an early screening with my friends. But this did not prepare us for the moody, almost downbeat atmosphere through most of the film, nor the sense of immediacy and almost hyper-realism combined with astoundingly fanciful imagery. It is such an odd movie! And yet, when i...( read more)
I like the movie a lot. but they added so much to the 21 paged book that it wasn't really that same. and the only line they kept was not that significant.
Waited for this film to come to the big screen. Spike directed this brilliantly with the cinematography and storyline was very good too however young kids might be frighten by it. Quite dark in some scenes and drama was pretty effective. Max Records did a great acting performance...( read more)
A fantastic film with wonderful characters. It loses momentum towards the end of the second act and beyond.
When I first heard that a movie was being made based on the classic children's book 'Where the Wild Things Are' I thought to myself "how are they going to adapt such a small book into a full-length feature fim?" and "does this movie really need to be made?" Well now that I've see...( read more)
Not very easy to understand. My friend & I got totally confused for the better part of the movie, and the ending doesnt' resolve anything...weird.
i was expecting a kid's movie.
nooot really a kid's movie...
hey, it ain't bad though.
looks like a great film 1 4 all the family another film on my hit list i recon
A little on the dark side and a strange take on the story book, but still really great. The speacial effects were phenomenal. This isn't a movie you want to take the young ones to. It can be a little scary at times.

Didn't love it, didn't hate it; I'm somewhere down the middle. A visually arresting showcase, however, I didn't receive the emotional impact that I had hope for. Perhaps my excitement for this movie got the better o...( read more)
A superb family film that never insults the audiences intellegence. Awesome break through performance by Max Records who I see becoming a big star (if he doesn't O'D too young:P) and James Gandolfini is awesome as always. Beautiful cinematography, an awesome soundtrack and supris...( read more)
it was ok showed the worth of family which is irreplacable but depressing
not my thing
I really enjoyed this movie. If you like Jim Henson creatures in movies then this is a must see. A great job done on a movie with little source material to work upon. Highly recommended.

The chaos and difficulty to be centered in on a urge to build a fort. Conveys how quick someone's eye can get poked out during the fun.
super libre
Entertaining but kinda dark for a movie perceived as a children's story. I like the book better.
Touching and fun, Where the Wild Things Are held me for the full two hours. It made me cry. 'Nuff said.
It's an alright movie. I think they did a good job capturing what kind of things a little boy likes to do for fun.
Ah! The book from my childhood...Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are". Max Records was an excellent choice to play the lead role of "Max". I applaud James Gandolfini for taking on the role of "Carol"...the charismatic Wild Thing who takes interest in Max from the start. I...( read more)
very good in a cinematic sense, but i really didn't like it. it was kind of depressing and the ending was blunt and pointless. they ruined the book, do over please.
Very Deep and a great movie! despite the PG rating, kids under 8 shouldnt see this movie. There are a few profanities and some scenes that can be startling or frightnening to younger kids...
OK movie. I wouldn't care to see it again. Very good performance from the kid who starred in this movie.
Let me begin by saying I have never read the children's book. The movie is too dark for young children. I thought the kid in the movie was just a spoiled brat who lies to get his way. The monsters proved more interesting, but they also could be concerned with petty ideas too.
i'm sorry but i dont believe this movie is for kids,i didnt like it and i didnt enjoy it..great costumes and soundtrack and good acting by the kid but story wise this was too...dysfunctinal.
